About the lamps

My lamps are decorative, mood-enhancing and are perfect as an accent in a dark hallway or neglected part of a room. I prefer lower wattages for a soft ambient light that showcases the details of the distinctive papers. The maximum wattage ranges from 75 to 100 watts for the Step and Curv lamps and 15 to 40 watts for the fine art lamps, so they may not offer enough light for reading or task lighting.

I use papers from all over the world for my shades. I hand pick the papers for their translucency, texture, color, or distinctive pattern. Each sheet is unique and imperfect, giving the lamps a one-of-a-kind feel. I combine the papers in unusual ways for a distinctive look and character. I am also experimenting with the creation of my own patterns and designs. The papers are backed with Styrene, the standard industry lampshade material. Lamps can be cleaned by using a feather duster.

Safety is a big consideration in the design of all my lamps. I test the shade temperatures and determine the maximum wattage allowed. All parts used in the construction of the fixtures are UL-approved (sockets, cords, switches, plugs, light bulbs, etc.). I typically use clear/silver cords which blend well with most decors.
